To start off, I'm not too familiar with mechanics of cars, I just got my first car about 6 months ago,its a 1999 altima and lately its been having acceleration problems. When I press on the gas the car moves extremely slow and has trouble picking up speed when accelerating from a complete stop (red light, stop sign).

My 2006 Nissan Maxima se with 84,000 miles on it is having major auto transmission problems, especially jerking into first gear when slowing down, or starting to go. I took it to a transmission specialist. Nothing shows up on the computer scans, indicating the transmission has to be replaced or rebuilt.

With that thing not working fast enough or slow response will not activate the transmission properly and will be slow acceleration. I had same problem took valve body out of transmission replaced the step motor, after was like new again. Is a common problem with Nissan CVT.
